What You Will Do
This 8 day Cambodia tour gives you time in three very different parts of the country. In Phnom Penh, you can ease into the trip, grab a cold drink by the river, or just rest after a long flight. In Kampot, the pace slows down. The town is easygoing, with old buildings, river views, and a nice food scene.
Then comes the island part. And yes, that is often the bit people talk about most. You will head to Sihanoukville and continue by speedboat to either Koh Rong or Koh Rong Sanloem. Koh Rong suits guests who want more beach action and a livelier feel. Koh Rong Sanloem is quieter and softer, with a slower rhythm. Both work well. It just depends on what kind of beach days you want.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Phnom Penh
Arrive in Phnom Penh by international flight, bus, or private overland transfer. We will meet you and transfer you to your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is free.
Day 2: Free day in Phnom Penh
Today is open. Sleep in, walk the city, book a food stop, or keep things slow. No tours are included on this day.
Day 3: Phnom Penh to Kampot
Travel by private transfer from Phnom Penh to Kampot. On arrival, we will drop you at your chosen hotel. The rest of the day is yours.
Day 4: Free day in Kampot
A full free day in Kampot. Take it easy by the river, head out for your own plans, or just enjoy the town at your own speed.
Day 5: Kampot to Koh Rong or Koh Rong Sanloem
Today you travel from Kampot to the island via Sihanoukville. You can go by private minivan or by train from Kampot to Sihanoukville, then continue to the pier for the speedboat.
The train is our top pick for many guests. It is a pleasant ride with nice views and no road traffic. We arrange the ride from your Kampot hotel to the rail station, then from the Sihanoukville rail station to the tourist pier. The usual train timing is around 11:15 AM departure from Kampot and around 1:30 PM arrival in Sihanoukville.
If you want a direct road ride, the minivan option works well too. Boat timing and train timing may move, so final times are always reconfirmed before travel.
Day 6: Free day on Koh Rong or Koh Rong Sanloem
A full free day on the island. Swim, rest, eat by the beach, or do very little at all. Some days are meant for that.
Day 7: Free day on Koh Rong or Koh Rong Sanloem
Another free island day. You may also book more nights on the island if you want a longer beach stay.
Day 8: Return to Phnom Penh
Take the morning speedboat back to Sihanoukville, then continue by private transfer to Phnom Penh city, Phnom Penh Airport, or another onward stop in Cambodia.

Boat and train schedules may move due to operator timing or seasonal service. Final timing will be reconfirmed before travel.
If you plan to fly out from Phnom Penh on Day 8, flights after 4:30 PM work well with the 6:30 AM speedboat. If your flight is after 6:30 PM, you may also use the later 8:45 AM or 9:30 AM speedboat.
Arrival in Phnom Penh can be by flight, bus, or private overland service. Guests coming from Ho Chi Minh City may also join this tour from that route.
