What do most guests miss in Siem Reap? Not the temples. The people.

We built the Siem Reap Green Journey for guests who want more than a fast temple run. You still get the big names. Ta Prohm. Bayon. Angkor Wat. But you also spend time with cooks, farmers, and local teams who make this part of Cambodia feel warm and real. You sit down for food that has a story. You walk through rice fields. You hear what daily rhythm sounds like outside town. And, to be honest, that is often the part people talk about most after the trip is over.

This tour moves at a good pace. Not too fast. Not too slow. Day 1 is about people, food, and the countryside. Day 2 turns to the temples, with smart timing that helps you enjoy them in better light and with a bit more space.

What You Will Do
The Siem Reap Green Journey starts in town and then opens up little by little. First, we take you to APOPO Visitor Center where trained HeroRATs help clear landmines and find tuberculosis. It is one of the most eye opening visits you can do in Siem Reap, and your visit helps fund the NGO work at the same time.
After that, we slow down. Lunch at SPOONS Cambodia, time back at your hotel, then a ride out to Chhreav where the road gets quieter and the rice fields start to stretch out on both sides. Later, at Baitang Siem Reap, you cook with local women as the sun goes down, then eat the meal together. It is simple. It is warm. It works.
Day 2 starts early for Ta Prohm. Then breakfast near Srah Srang. Then a soft walk in Preah Dak, where rice paddies, small village homes, and noodle making all come together in one easy morning. In the afternoon, we head into Angkor Thom and Bayon, then finish at Angkor Wat in late afternoon light. That order matters. The stone looks better. The air feels softer. And the whole day lands better that way.

Itinerary
Day 1
10:00 AM, Hotel pickup in Siem Reap
We meet you at your hotel and start the day with a female tuk tuk driver. It is a calm, easy start, and a nice way to see the city wake up.
10:30 AM, Visit APOPO Visitor Center
Meet the HeroRATs and learn how the team works in Cambodia. You will hear about landmines, see a live demo, and get a close look at a project that has real impact on the ground.
11:30 AM, Lunch at SPOONS Cambodia
Enjoy a Khmer lunch in a training restaurant that helps young Cambodians build a future in hospitality. Before lunch, the team gives a short intro to the school and the work they do.
1:00 PM, Return to hotel and rest time
This part matters more than people think. Siem Reap gets hot. A short break in the middle of the day keeps the rest of the tour easy and fun.
3:30 PM, Chhreav farm area and village walk
Head out of town and spend time in the countryside near Siem Reap. Walk past rice fields, farm land, and village homes. See a slower side of Cambodia, one that many guests miss.
4:45 PM, Sunset cooking and dinner at Baitang Siem Reap
Arrive at Baitang and start cooking with local women trainers. As sunset comes in, you help make traditional Khmer dishes, then sit down and eat what you cooked after dark. This part feels very personal, and yes, people love it.
Day 2
6:30 AM, Transfer to Ta Prohm
We leave early for a quiet start at Ta Prohm. The air is cooler, the paths are calmer, and the giant tree roots feel even more striking in the morning.
8:30 AM, Breakfast near Srah Srang
Sit down for breakfast at a local restaurant near Srah Srang. This stop gives you about 45 minutes to rest before the next part of the day.
9:30 AM, Preah Dak walk and Khmer noodle making with lunch
After breakfast, we begin a soft walk through Preah Dak. You pass rice paddies, village homes, and working farm plots. Then you join a hands on noodle session and learn how this classic Khmer dish is made before sitting down for lunch.
2:00 PM, Angkor Thom and Bayon
In the afternoon, we visit Angkor Thom and Bayon Temple. The stone faces at Bayon are one of the most famous sights in Cambodia, and your guide helps bring the site into focus without rushing you through it.
3:40 PM, Transfer to Angkor Wat
4:00 PM, Angkor Wat in late afternoon light
End the day at Angkor Wat when the heat starts to ease and the stone takes on a softer colour. You have time to walk, listen, look up, and take it in at the right pace.

The Siem Reap Green Journey is best for guests who want temples, food, village time, and real contact with local people in one well paced trip.
The Siem Reap Green Journey gives you two very good days in Siem Reap, but it never feels like a race. You get famous temples, yes, but you also get faces, voices, food, and quiet places that stay with you longer. We like that mix. Most guests do too.
